Cannabis as a cure for cancer?

Cannabis is still most often used for pain management. However, many people are not aware that cannabis is also being studied as a potential treatment base for many illnesses, including cancer.

Prof. Dedi Meiri at the Technion in Haifa, Israel, has been studying the effects of cannabis compounds on cancerous cells. There is as yet no public clinical data from his research, but investors are taking note of the healing potential hidden in the plant (http://cannakids.org/portfolio/cannakids-cure-pharmaceutical-announce-research-collaboration-technion-institute-israel/).

Such interest, both from special interest groups and investors, will likely only increase as such research projects progress and produce results. Major funding for is still lacking in the space, but more funding is being diverted toward research projects that have the potential for significant upside for patient investors.

The real healing properties of the cannabis plant remain unproven, but we may very well be on the brink of exciting and revolutionary breakthroughs in plant-based medicine.
